AK Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş delivered a stern message on the investment fund investigation at a “Türkiye Century Meetings” event in Istanbul’s Başakşehir district.
“Whoever it is, from us or from others... if they manipulated this, knowingly timing their entry and exit, and within those four to five months turned 1 lira into 10 or 10 million lira into 100 million, or made billions, they will be held to account,” Elitaş said.
“No matter whose baby, whose son, whose child they are, there is no distinction,” he said, adding that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had personally taken up the issue. His remarks came after AK Party deputy chair Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya’s request to be relieved of her duties was accepted following allegations about her fund transactions.
