The CHP administration, which has turned the city's resources into a bribery tool instead of serving Istanbulites, is driving the megacity to bankruptcy while failing to deliver on its election promises. Under the CHP-led Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), the unit price of water, which was 4 TL during the AK Party era, has reached 60 TL with a 1500 percent increase. In public transport, a single full-fare ticket rose from 2.60 TL to 46.20 TL, a total increase of 1,776 percent.
At İSPARK, the one-hour parking fee was raised from 6 TL to 220 TL, a 3,666 percent hike. Despite even selling off areas expropriated during the AK Party era to protect water basins, the debt stock, which was only 350 million TL in domestic debt in 2019, reached 40 billion 493 million TL by 2025.

Speaking at the İBB Council meeting on Monday, AK Party Legal Committee member Muhammet Kaynar provided information on the financial statements of the municipality's subsidiaries and affiliated institutions, as well as the rate of price hikes in the city. Kaynar criticized all increases in water, public transport, and parking fees over the 7-year period since 2019, as well as İSKİ's financial structure, based on official data.
İSKİ DEFICIT 10 BILLION TL: Emphasizing that the institution's financial balance is in deficit despite the hikes and property sales, Kaynar shared the following data: 'İSKİ earned 76 billion 993 million TL in revenue in 2025, while its expenditure was 86 billion 8 million TL. Its budget ran a deficit of 10 billion TL. Land sales revenue, which was 8 billion TL in 2024, increased by 269 percent in 2025 to 30 billion 902 million TL.'
'Regarding İSKİ's debt stock, Kaynar noted that in 2019 the institution had no foreign debt, only 350 million TL in domestic debt.
