Aliyev congratulates Erdoğan on Republic Day, highlights alliance-level ties
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Türkiye on Republic Day in a letter to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and wished peace and prosperity to brotherly Türkiye.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the occasion of Türkiye’s Republic Day on October 29.
In his letter, Aliyev said, "My dear brother, I wholeheartedly congratulate you and all the people of Türkiye on the occasion of Republic Day on October 29."
Aliyev stresses that ties have reached the level of an alliance
Aliyev said that genuine bonds of friendship and brotherhood unite Azerbaijan and Türkiye, adding, "With the Shusha Declaration, our relations reached the level of an alliance." He concluded his letter by saying, "I wish peace and prosperity to brotherly Türkiye."
The Shusha Declaration, which formalized the alliance between the two countries, was signed by President Erdoğan and Aliyev in Shusha on June 15, 2021.
