Astronaut and tech entrepreneur Aisha Bowe visited İzmir on a program organized by the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, sharing her path from engineering student to astronaut with students at Dokuz Eylül University, the Municipal Science Center and Space Camp Türkiye.

"Most people stop at realistic. I start at unrealistic; that’s where the breakthroughs are," read a quote from Bowe displayed during her talk. She wrapped up the visit with a night tour of ancient Ephesus, which she called "amazing and unforgettable."

A former NASA engineer and founder of the tech company STEMBoard, Bowe flew to the edge of space on Blue Origin’s all-female NS-31 flight in April 2025, becoming the first Bahamian to go to space.
