Russian delegation at Ankara CBRN Congress discusses emergency cooperation with AFAD
A Russian delegation led by Deputy Emergencies Minister Anatoly Suprunovsky attended the 4th International CBRN Congress in Ankara on Oct. 6-9 and discussed emergency response and civil defense cooperation with AFAD President Ali Pehlivan.
A high-level Russian delegation attended the 4th International Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Congress hosted by Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) in Ankara on Oct. 6-9. This year’s theme was redefining CBRN threats in the age of artificial intelligence.
The delegation was led by Anatoly Suprunovsky, deputy minister of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) and chief state fire inspector. "I believe our cooperation will grow even stronger to ensure the safety of our countries’ citizens and of the global community as a whole," he told the plenary session.
The delegation also met AFAD President Ali Pehlivan to exchange views on practical experience in emergency response and civil defense and on opportunities for Türkiye-Russia cooperation in the field, the Russian Embassy in Ankara said.
