Baykar's Bayraktar TB2 armed unmanned aerial vehicle was tested as a "mothership" carrying FPV (first-person-view) kamikaze drones. Footage released by the company shows the TB2 carrying 16 SkyDagger-made FPV unmanned aerial vehicles under its wings, with eight on each wing. Defence Turk and Takvim reported that the TB2 took off from the Keşan Flight Training and Test Center in Edirne and, after reaching the test area, released two FPV drones from the air; the independently controlled drones struck designated targets.
"A new doctrine on the battlefield"
Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar highlighted the significance of the test: "On the battlefield, FPV drones with an average range of 15 kilometers can now reach thousands of kilometers away through integration with the Bayraktar TB2 armed unmanned aerial vehicle." Bayraktar said, "Carrying 16 SkyDagger FPV drones and providing an airborne communications relay, the Bayraktar TB2 is opening the door to a new doctrine on the battlefield."

Under this approach, the TB2 both carries FPV drones to the front line and extends the connection between operators and drones by functioning as an airborne communications relay. As a result, the operational range of small kamikaze drones, normally limited to a few kilometers, can expand to the TB2's flight range.
Project launched in 2024
Baykar began working on integrating FPV drones with the TB2 in 2024. That year, the company signed an agreement with Croatian FPV drone manufacturer ORQA at the SAHA EXPO exhibition. Baykar did not disclose details about the date of the test or what happened to the other 14 drones carried during the flight.
