The BIST 100 index ended the day higher, gaining 301.86 points from the previous close. Total trading volume on Borsa İstanbul stood at 188.6 billion lira.
The banking index gained 1.94%, while the holding companies index rose 0.50%. Among sector indices, information technology posted the biggest gain at 5.26%, while financial leasing and factoring recorded the largest decline at 7.06%.
Mixed trading in global markets
Rising oil prices and increased price pressures in the U.S. manufacturing sector, which pushed bond yields higher, limited risk appetite in global markets. Micron's earnings report, which exceeded expectations, supported technology stocks.

Domestically, the BIST 100 followed a positive course as bargain buying spread across the market after losses in the previous three trading sessions. The Capital Markets Board's statement on funds undergoing liquidation was also on investors' agenda.
Interim payments for funds undergoing liquidation
The Capital Markets Board said urgent interim payments would be made to all participation certificate holders in funds whose reconciliation procedures had been completed, with the payments to be deducted from the final amounts to which they would be entitled at the end of the liquidation process. The interim payment to each investor for each fund separately will not exceed 1 million lira.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the problem that emerged in part of the fund market had been resolved, adding that the process was being conducted with fairness and justice in line with capital market rules. Erdoğan said no attempt would be allowed to let the issue pose a threat to economic security or social peace.
Agenda and technical levels to watch
Domestically, the second meeting of the Fund Coordination Board will be followed, while abroad, a busy data agenda will be monitored, led by nonfarm payrolls in the U.S. and inflation in the euro area.
Technically, 12,400 and 12,500 points stand out as resistance levels for the BIST 100 index, while 12,100 and 12,000 points are seen as support levels.
