Body of İbrahim Kaya, Missing for Five Months, Found in Keban Dam Lake
The body of İbrahim Kaya, missing since February 7, 2026, has been found on the shore of Keban Dam Lake in Elazığ. The body was recovered by AFAD teams and handed over to health officials, with identity confirmed through DNA analysis.

Report and Response
In a report received by the Elazığ Provincial Directorate of AFAD in the morning hours, it was stated that a body was seen on the shore of Keban Dam Lake near Aydıncık Village.
Upon the report, a vehicle and a five-person search and rescue team affiliated with AFAD were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Identification
After initial examinations at the scene, the body was handed over to health officials by AFAD teams.
Authorities announced that samples taken from the body were sent for DNA analysis for definitive identification.
As a result of detailed work, it was definitively determined that the body found belonged to İbrahim Kaya, who went missing on February 7, 2026.
Official Statement
Dr. Cafer Giyik, Head of the Elazığ Provincial Directorate of AFAD, stated that the body was recovered and handed over to health teams thanks to the rapid response of the teams.
Dr. Giyik emphasized that the definitive identification was confirmed through DNA analysis and that the process was carried out with sensitivity.
Next Steps
A judicial investigation has been initiated regarding the incident, and condolences were extended to the family and relatives of İbrahim Kaya.
It was learned that the body will be sent to the Elazığ Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy procedures.
