According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), Bursa achieved $20 billion in exports in 2025, including free zones. The city’s exports rose 9.5 percent compared to the previous year.
Bursa exported goods and services to 194 countries, outperforming 118 nations. The city, which surpassed countries from different continents such as Luxembourg, Paraguay, Jordan, Uruguay, Georgia, Kenya, Macedonia, and Senegal, made a significant contribution to Türkiye’s foreign trade targets.
İbrahim Burkay, Chairman of the Board of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), said the city is one of the main drivers of Türkiye’s economy with its deep-rooted production culture and high value-added sectors.
“In a period when protectionist tendencies in global trade are strengthening, and geopolitical risks and cost pressures are rising, Bursa’s export increase is extremely valuable. The fact that our city exports more than 118 countries is a significant result of our industrialists’ production determination, our entrepreneurs’ vision, and the labor of our workers.”
Burkay stated that they see it as a priority goal for companies to shift towards high value-added production, advanced technology, and new-generation export markets. He noted that through KFA Fuarcılık, a subsidiary of BTSO, companies participate in national and international fairs, trade delegations, and overseas business trips.
“KFA Fuarcılık carries Türkiye’s production strength to the world, from defense industry to textiles, machinery to food and construction sectors. With the new era we have initiated at the Bursa Fair Center, we will continue to offer our companies new trade and export opportunities while making our city a stronger hub in international fair organization.”
Emphasizing that BTSO supports companies’ international competitiveness through its Ur-Ge, HİSER, clustering and Commercial Safari projects, Burkay noted that these projects, carried out with the support of the Ministry of Trade, have created an exemplary model specifically for preparing SMEs for export.
“We will continue to expand these efforts, which enhance the institutional capacities of companies, strengthen the culture of joint action, and facilitate direct meetings with foreign buyers, with new sectors and new markets. By supporting Bursa’s production strength with technology, design, branding, and qualified human resources, we aim to significantly raise its share in world trade. With the understanding that ‘When Bursa grows, Türkiye grows,’ we will continue to take steps to increase exports.”
