Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, head of Türkiye’s Presidential Investment and Finance Office, said Türkiye has become a genuine hub where numerous global companies manage their regional operations.
Speaking at the GITEX AI-Türkiye event held in Istanbul on Thursday, Dağlıoğlu said Türkiye’s geographical location, skilled workforce, funds, capital and access to markets had made the country a regional hub.
Focus on entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence
Dağlıoğlu said Türkiye had also emerged as a leading destination for startups in recent years, noting that the development was not limited to Turkish companies establishing operations in the country. He said companies from Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, North Africa and the Middle East were also being drawn to Türkiye.
Dağlıoğlu said the adoption of artificial intelligence had become more important as global transformations accelerated.
Aim to become a global economic power
Dağlıoğlu said Türkiye had the most diverse industrial economy in its region and that the finance, information technology, communications, software, tourism and hospitality sectors also provided a strong services infrastructure.
Dağlıoğlu said Türkiye had maintained its competitive economy over the past 20 years and announced that the country aimed to transform from a regional hub into a global economic power in the coming decades. He stressed that Türkiye stood out with its flexible and fast-growing economy, extensive human resources, commitment to reforms and strategic position at the crossroads of continents.
