Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that a five-year program would be launched to train human resources in advanced strategic technologies.
First phase to select 550 doctoral students
In a post on his social media account, Erdoğan said 550 doctoral students would be selected through a centralized examination in the program’s first phase. The students will study at 20 research universities in strategic fields including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, chip technologies and advanced computer systems.
Target is approximately 3,000 young researchers
The five-year program aims to bring approximately 3,000 young researchers into Türkiye’s science and technology system by its conclusion.
The program seeks to increase the pool of qualified human resources in biotechnology, meet the advanced expertise needs of the public and private sectors, and guide successful young people toward academic careers at an early age.
Erdoğan said they would continue working to make Türkiye a strong, prosperous and fully independent country that develops, produces and offers the technologies of the future to the world.
