A road collapsed at around 10 p.m. in the Zeyrek area of Istanbul’s Fatih district during a thunderstorm, and a truck and a car fell into the resulting hole. Both vehicles were pulled out with the help of teams and residents, and municipal police cordoned off the area. Across Istanbul, some underpasses, homes and shops were flooded.

In Ankara, overnight downpours flooded the entrances and basements of several buildings in the Keçiören district, where residents tried to pump out the water themselves.
