AKOM warns of heavy rain and winds reaching 60 km/h in Istanbul
AKOM warned of rainfall expected to affect the Marmara Region, particularly Istanbul, starting tomorrow. The rain is expected to spread after 00:00, temperatures to fall to 15–18 degrees, and winds to reach 30–60 km/h.
AKOM announced that the Marmara Region, particularly Istanbul, will come under the influence of a cool and rainy weather system moving in from the Balkans.
The rainfall is expected to occur as localized showers tomorrow before intensifying from 18:00 on Sunday and spreading across the province.
Rain will continue throughout the week
The rain is expected to continue intermittently throughout the week as showers, with locally heavy downpours.
Winds are expected to strengthen from the north starting tomorrow afternoon, reaching speeds of 30 to 60 km/h. As the northeasterly wind intensifies, temperatures, currently ranging between 22 and 24 degrees, are expected to fall to 15–18 degrees.
