In the Black Sea, near the Russian port of Novorossiysk, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) struck the Turkish-flagged cargo ship MV Reyhan Sarı. One crew member was killed in the attack and two others were wounded.
The vessel, which was carrying coal from Russia's Port of Taman to Trabzon, was sailing off Novorossiysk when it was struck. The injured were taken to hospitals in Samsun by Coast Guard teams.
Despite the damage, the ship managed to stay afloat and reached Turkish territorial waters under its own power.
Ankara has not yet issued an official statement regarding the perpetrator of the attack. However, suspicions are focusing on a Ukrainian UAV.
The Kyiv administration announced that same day that it had struck 13 ships in operations targeting Russia's "shadow fleet".
