Elazığ-Tunceli Highway Closed Due to Flooding
A sudden heavy rain in Kovancılar district of Elazığ caused flooding near Karıncaköy, leading to the closure of the highway. A person trapped in a vehicle was rescued by emergency teams.
A sudden downpour in Kovancılar district of Elazığ turned into a flood near Karıncaköy village. Floodwaters spilled onto the road, causing the closure of the Kovancılar-Tunceli highway.
A driver traveling in the area became trapped due to the flood. Following the alert, 112 Emergency Health, AFAD, fire department, police, gendarmerie, and Provincial Special Administration teams were dispatched to the scene.
With the efforts of the teams, the person trapped in the vehicle was rescued. Work is ongoing in the area to reopen the highway to traffic.
