President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and his accompanying delegation in Istanbul.
The meeting addressed bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues.

Erdoğan stated that the entire world breathed a deep sigh of relief thanks to the calm achieved through the Islamabad Accord. He emphasized that they support every step that will contribute to reducing tensions in the region and resolving issues through diplomacy.
Noting that they are closely monitoring the Israeli administration's provocations aimed at undermining the accord, Erdoğan said, "The current war-addicted Israeli government must not be allowed to plunge our region back into the smell of gunpowder and blood."

Erdoğan noted that Türkiye wants a climate to prevail in which all residents of the region, regardless of their faith, live in peace and security, and said they are making every effort to establish such a climate.
He stated that they will continue to work in solidarity with brotherly countries, especially Pakistan, to strengthen peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

Erdoğan stated that the target of raising the trade volume between the two countries to $5 billion was reaffirmed, and expressed their desire to deepen cooperation in energy, transportation, critical minerals and information technologies.
Emphasizing that cooperation in the defense industry is advancing with new projects, Erdoğan added that he believes these projects will add strength to Pakistan's power.
