President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking at the opening of the Turkish parliament’s new legislative year, said the problem that emerged in a certain part of the fund market is being overcome. “Within the framework of capital market rules, observing fairness and justice and without letting anyone’s rights be usurped, we are resolving this matter swiftly,” he said.

“God willing, we will not allow this issue to turn into a threat to our economic security and social peace,” Erdoğan added. Under the fund investigation, the Capital Markets Board earlier approved interim payments of up to 1 million liras to investors in funds being liquidated.
