In Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, an alliance of pro-European Union opposition parties organized a protest claiming the government has been ineffective in the EU integration process. The demonstration started in front of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and continued to the parliament building. Thousands of protesters carrying flags of Georgia, the EU, the USA, and Ukraine chanted anti-government slogans. The protesters expressed their opposition to the government's decision to suspend EU accession negotiations for four years. They also demanded the release of individuals detained and arrested during the long-standing protests that began on November 28, 2024. The protest continued through Tbilisi's central streets Petre Melikishvili and Shota Rustaveli to the parliament.
