Eurasia Tunnel sets daily record with 94,489 vehicles
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the Eurasia Tunnel set a daily traffic record with 94,489 vehicles on Friday, September 4. The previous record was set on June 13, 2024, when 94,459 vehicles used the tunnel.
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the Eurasia Tunnel had set a new daily record for vehicle traffic.
In Uraloğlu's written statement, 94,489 vehicles passed through the tunnel on Friday, September 4. This set a new daily vehicle traffic record for the Eurasia Tunnel.
Previous record was set on June 13, 2024
The tunnel's previous daily traffic record was set on June 13, 2024. A total of 94,459 vehicles passed through the Eurasia Tunnel that day.
Uraloğlu said the Eurasia Tunnel is the first and only double-deck road tunnel connecting the Asian and European continents beneath the seabed.
Uraloğlu said the 5-kilometer tunnel, together with its approach roads, has been in service for nearly 10 years along a 14.6-kilometer route on Istanbul's heavily trafficked Kazlıçeşme-Göztepe corridor.
