Fenerbahçe Medicana men's volleyball head coach Taner Atik said they had completed a five-week preparation period ahead of the 2026–2027 season and would play two more friendly matches before the league begins.
Atik said the preparation period had gone well, adding that players who began preseason training together had been joined by those returning from national teams. He said they were working to ensure that players arriving from different programmes adapted to the team in the best possible way and would complete this process through the friendly matches.

National team programmes increased the risk of injuries
Atik said the team had several injuries, noting that the players had taken a short break after the club season before joining national team programmes. He said this workload could cause physical problems for athletes, adding that they were working with the medical and performance staff to prepare the players fully for the first match of the season.
Targeting trophies in Europe and Türkiye
Atik said the team's objective for the 2026–2027 season was to win trophies. He said the new signings Bedirhan, Muhammet, Anderson and Beytullah, along with all the domestic, foreign, young and experienced players, were valuable to the team. He stressed that team cohesion was as important as individual performance.

Atik said the team's energy and cohesion were strong and that communication between the players and the coaching staff was good, adding that he believed this would be reflected in their performance. He said Fenerbahçe were a team competing for trophies both in Europe and Türkiye, and that building unity with the supporters would also be important to achieving their goal. He invited the fans to attend the matches.
