Fenerbahçe forward Marco Asensio will have surgery on his injured knee, Turkish sports media reported on Saturday. According to A Spor reporter Erdem Akbaş, the Spaniard had been receiving injection treatment on the knee for some time, and surgery was decided on after he failed to respond to it.
Daily Fanatik also reported that he would go under the knife. The operation is to take place abroad, and Asensio is expected to be sidelined for at least two months including rehabilitation. The club has yet to comment officially.
Missed the last two matches

Asensio traveled with the squad to face Aston Villa in the Champions League but was left out of the matchday lineup, and he then missed the Süper Lig game against Corendon Alanyaspor through injury.
The 30-year-old has made 8 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist.
Denied surgery reports in September
Asensio has struggled with injuries since the start of the season. On Sept. 3 he dismissed reports that he needed an operation, saying “I categorically deny” them and that he had gradually returned to training on the pitch.
