Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Oct. 13, Turkish diplomatic sources said. The two discussed the latest developments in the region and assessed diplomatic efforts to find a solution to ongoing conflicts.
The ministers last met in person on Sept. 25 in New York on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly, and spoke by phone on Sept. 16 about attacks in the region and ongoing negotiations.

Rising regional tensions
The call came as Yemen’s Houthis have stepped up attacks on Saudi airports and the Saudi-led coalition has intensified operations in Yemen. Türkiye has condemned the Houthi attacks and voiced support for Saudi Arabia.
