Foreign Minister Fidan hosts Qatar’s Al Thani in Ankara
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Ankara.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Ankara. The meeting was held in Ankara.
Türkiye and Qatar maintain close cooperation in many areas, particularly defense, energy and the economy, within the framework of their strategic partnership conducted through the High Strategic Committee mechanism. The meeting came as Qatar continued its mediating role in contacts between Iran and the United States.
Regional diplomatic engagements
Fidan also held a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi that same day, discussing the negotiation process between Iran and the United States and regional developments. The foreign minister will also pay a working visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus tomorrow.
