Foreign Minister Fidan attends funeral for Ambassador Metin Ergin in Ankara
A funeral was held in Ankara for Ambassador Metin Ergin, who died while serving in South Sudan. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also attended the ceremony.
A funeral was held at Hasan Tanık Mosque in Ankara for Ambassador Metin Ergin, who died while representing Türkiye in Juba, the capital of South Sudan. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan attended the ceremony and extended his condolences to Ergin's family.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote in a post: "May God have mercy on our ambassador, and may He grant patience to his grieving family and loved ones." Türkiye's embassies and consulates general in various countries also shared condolence messages for Ambassador Ergin on their social media accounts.
