Former Armenian Constitutional Court President Hrayr Tovmasyan has filed an application against his country at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
Tovmasyan's lawyer Aram Orbelyan announced on the factor.am website that his client has filed a lawsuit against Armenia at the ECHR.
Tovmasyan served as President of the Constitutional Court from 2018 to 2020, and as a member of the court from 2020 to 2026. He was removed from office after his conviction took effect.
The former president was found guilty of abuses committed during his tenure as Justice Minister from 2010 to 2014. Tovmasyan denied the charges and repeatedly stated that he was targeted for political reasons.
