Following a decline in Brent crude prices on international markets, a 5.65-lira cut in the price of gasoline is expected in Türkiye. According to reports citing some industry sources, the cut is projected to take effect at the pump at 00:01 on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Once applied, the price of a liter of gasoline would fall below the psychological threshold of 80 liras, to an expected 78.15 liras in Istanbul, 79.15 in Ankara and 79.45 in İzmir. No change is currently expected in diesel prices.

Conflicting information on timing
Other industry sources, however, say no cut is planned for tonight, as the decline in international prices has not yet reached a level that would be passed on at the pump. According to them, a cut of about 4 liras could come into play from Tuesday, Oct. 20, if the decline continues.
Exact prices will be confirmed by fuel distributors’ updated price lists when the cut takes effect.
