Genocidal Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu targeted President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Türkiye in a significant portion of his speech at the 81st UN General Assembly.
Netanyahu accused Türkiye of spreading anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric, while referring to President Erdoğan as a “tyrant.” The Israeli prime minister also alleged that Türkiye hosts Hamas leaders.

In his speech, Netanyahu also leveled various accusations against Erdoğan concerning Kurdish civilians, the Armenian issue, journalists and opposition leaders. These remarks constituted allegations Netanyahu voiced from the UN podium.
The Israeli prime minister later targeted Türkiye over Northern Cyprus. Describing Türkiye’s presence in Northern Cyprus as an “illegal occupation,” Netanyahu argued that Ankara had also committed violations against Greece, a NATO member.
Netanyahu also addressed Türkiye’s policies in Syria, alleging that Erdoğan wanted to take control of Syria, and directly addressed President Erdoğan on the issue of Jerusalem.

Erdoğan had brought the situation in Gaza to the UN podium
Netanyahu’s remarks targeting Türkiye and Erdoğan came as Ankara continued its strong criticism of Israel’s military operations in Gaza.
Erdoğan had previously shown world leaders photographs depicting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza from the UN podium and called on the international community to take action to halt Israel’s attacks.
While Türkiye continues to criticize the Netanyahu government over civilian casualties and the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the Israeli government maintains that its operations target Hamas and rejects accusations of genocide.
With Netanyahu’s latest speech, the harsh rhetoric between the two countries was once again brought to the UN General Assembly podium.
