Google Maps now shows petrol and diesel prices directly on the map. When users search for "petrol" or "fuel," nearby stations appear with their latest prices on the map pins.
The feature went live in the UK on Oct. 8 in Google Maps and Waze, using data from the government’s Fuel Finder system, which requires forecourts to report price changes within 30 minutes.

The government says Fuel Finder covers about 99% of fuel sold in the UK and that drivers could save around £40 a year by choosing cheaper stations. The open data is also used by services such as RAC Fuel Watch and PetrolPrices.com.
