Semih Yalçın, Deputy Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), strongly reacted on social media to former TBMM Speaker Bülent Arınç's statements regarding those dismissed by decree laws (KHK). At the "Social Peace and Political Relations" conference held in Ankara, Arınç drew attention to the grievances of KHK victims following the July 15 coup attempt and called for the conclusion of the process concerning Abdullah Öcalan's status.
Semih Yalçın described Arınç as a "fossil politician," claiming he was trying to stay relevant. Yalçın alleged that Arınç was trying to repay the political gains he obtained during the times he acted as a courier and intermediary for FETÖ. Additionally, he stated that Arınç's remarks about KHK victims were directed to the wrong addresses.
Yalçın defined those dismissed by decree laws as "people dismissed from public office or working in closed institutions due to connections, relations, or membership with terrorist organizations." These statements were also linked to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's recent remarks about Abdullah Öcalan's status in his last group meeting.
Although no official response or statement has been made yet, Arınç's remarks are expected to increase political debates. How the process will proceed and whether the parties will make new statements will become clear in the coming days.
Developments and official statements regarding the issue will be followed.
