Aliyev's message
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev issued a message addressing the Turkic World Week held in Baku on the occasion of its 100th anniversary.
In the message, it was stated that the Turkic world is progressing on the path to becoming one of the influential power centers of the century, worthy of its ancestors who built a great civilization. Aliyev said, "The Turkic world family is on the path to becoming one of the influential power centers of the century, befitting the great civilization our ancestors created. We will continue to exert all our efforts to strengthen and make this family unshakable."
Aliyev expressed his satisfaction that the proposal he raised at the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Gabala last October to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the First Turkology Congress has now materialized.
Symbolic meaning of Turkic World Week
President Aliyev emphasized that the event coinciding with Azerbaijan's term presidency of the OTS has a special symbolic meaning. The message stated, "The Turkic World Week, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkology Congress, coinciding with Azerbaijan's term presidency in the Organization of Turkic States, carries a distinct symbolic value."
The message recalled that the First Turkology Congress, which gathered in Baku's Ismailiyya Palace 100 years ago, brought together leading figures and renowned researchers of world Turkology. It was noted that the congress had extraordinary significance in shaping the cultural integration ideology of Turkic peoples, who have a rich history and deep-rooted heritage.
