Istanbul airports and Turkish Airlines top Europe's punctuality rankings
According to EUROCONTROL's July 13-19 report, Istanbul Airport ranked first with an 81% on-time departure rate, and Sabiha Gökçen second with 78%. Turkish Airlines was the most punctual airline among the top 20 carriers with an 85% on-time arrival rate.
The European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) published its "European Aviation Network Performance Report" for the week of July 13-19. According to the report, Istanbul Airport ranked first among all European airports with an 81% on-time departure rate.
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport came second with a 78% on-time departure performance. Thus, the two Istanbul airports shared the top spots on the punctuality list.
Turkish Airlines (THY) also achieved one of the report's most striking results. With an 85% on-time arrival rate among the top 20 European carriers, THY earned the title of most punctual airline.
