Istanbul impound lot and towing fees raised by up to 38.9%
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality increased impound lot and towing fees with its July council decisions. The standard vehicle towing fee was raised to 2,500 TL, and daily parking fees were increased by between 25% and 33.33%.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) increased impound lot and towing fees as part of its July council decisions. Citing rising operating costs, the adjustment significantly raised the transportation and storage costs for vehicles towed due to illegal parking or regulatory violations.
Under the new tariff, the standard vehicle towing and special transport fee for up to 5 kilometers was increased by 38.90% from 1,800 TL to 2,500 TL. The additional per-kilometer charge for tow trucks exceeding 5 kilometers was raised by 42.86% from 70 TL to 100 TL.
Impound Lot Daily Parking Tariff
- Automobile: from 200 TL to 250 TL (25% increase)
- Motorcycle: from 100 TL to 130 TL (30% increase)
- Pickup truck, Minibus, Off-road vehicle: from 230 TL to 300 TL (30.44% increase)
- Truck and Bus: from 350 TL to 450 TL (28.57% increase)
- Construction machinery: from 450 TL to 600 TL (33.33% increase)
The new fees took effect following the IBB council decision.
