Jitex-İGA terminal at Istanbul Airport, which serves private jet and premium passengers, continues its operations in the luxury aviation sector. The terminal has welcomed approximately 3,600 very important person (VVIP) passengers since its official opening on May 5.
Comprehensive services for private jet passengers
Jitex-İGA Terminal Manager Burcu Goriş said the terminal brings together private aviation with luxury accommodation and hospitality services. Goriş said establishing such a terminal in Istanbul was an investment Türkiye had needed for a long time.
The terminal includes private suites, a health and wellness center, meeting rooms, restaurants, entertainment areas and several lounges. These facilities enable the terminal to offer an experience comparable to that of a luxury hotel within the airport.
Goriş said VVIP passengers regularly travel to major cities around the world and have high expectations. She said passenger feedback showed satisfaction with the availability of this level of service in Istanbul and Türkiye.
Istanbul’s location supports demand
Istanbul Airport’s location at one of the connection points between Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa provides a significant advantage for the terminal’s operations. The airport’s large passenger and transit passenger capacity creates opportunities for services in the luxury aviation sector.
Strong demand from Russia and the Gulf
Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan stand out among the countries from which passengers using the terminal arrive. The terminal also sees strong demand from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
The terminal also serves private groups arriving from Europe and the United States, as well as participants in private events held in Istanbul. Passengers from Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States place importance on time management, privacy and rapid service. For this reason, staff teams receive training tailored to these markets.
A contribution to Istanbul’s economy
Goriş said high-end luxury aviation makes a significant contribution to Istanbul’s economy and tourism sector. The terminal is one of the first and last points of contact between high-spending passengers and the city, complements luxury tourism investments in Istanbul and aims to strengthen the city’s value as a luxury travel destination.
