AKINROBOTICS, which conducts research into humanoid robot technologies in Türkiye, is preparing its new-generation humanoid robot AKINCI-5, developed using domestic resources, for mass production.
Designed as the first mass-production model in the series capable of moving and walking normally, the robot has critical components such as its motor, gearbox, circuit and power boards manufactured in-house. AKINCI-5 can operate autonomously through its onboard computers without requiring an external cloud system.
19-joint structure
AKINROBOTICS Production Coordinator Emre Çağ said AKINCI-5 was developed with a joint structure offering 19 degrees of freedom. The bipedal robot is 128 centimeters tall and weighs 42 kilograms.
According to Çağ, AKINCI-5 can operate for 1.5 hours on a half-hour charge. Its replaceable battery architecture allows the power source to be replaced during operation.
Critical components manufactured in-house
AKINROBOTICS develops the robot’s motors, gearboxes, artificial intelligence training, circuits and power boards. Çağ said this production model gives the company flexibility and manufacturing independence, describing AKINCI-5 as a “100% domestically engineered product.”
AKINCI-5 is powered by artificial intelligence, with its training also carried out in-house. The robot is intended to be controlled through its onboard computers rather than via the cloud.
Sales targeted for the end of 2027
AKINCI-5 is planned for use in sectors where people currently perform tasks. The robot is being developed to carry out tiring, repetitive, physically demanding or dangerous tasks, provided that it receives appropriate training.
Çağ announced that the robot is planned to go on sale toward the end of 2027. AKINCI-5 can be adapted to assigned tasks within its physical limits and specialized for different areas, including dance and sports activities.
