Antalya expects 35,000 attendees from 82 countries at IAC 2026
Antalya Governor Şahin announced that around 35,000 people from 82 countries are expected to attend IAC 2026, which will be held at the NEST International Congress Center in Antalya. The congress will officially open on October 5 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and 1,070 personnel will be assigned to the event.
Governor Şahin reviewed preparations for IAC 2026, which will be held at the NEST International Congress Center, during the Antalya Peace, Security and Public Order Information Meeting. Around 35,000 people are expected to attend the congress from 82 countries, including representatives of 604 member organizations, government officials, bureaucrats, university representatives, civil society organizations, academics and students.
The congress will officially open on October 5 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Various social excursion programs have also been prepared for the astronauts and other guests who will be in Antalya.
Excursion routes prepared for guests
As part of the program, excursions have been planned along routes featuring the TÜBİTAK Observatory, Akdeniz University Campus, Karacaören, Sagalassos, İnsuyu, Aspendos, Düden Waterfalls, Kaleiçi, Perge, the ancient city of Side, Köprülü Canyon, Demre-Mira-Kekova, Kaş-Patara and Land of Legends.
1,070 personnel assigned for security
A total of 1,070 personnel were assigned to ensure that the event is held in a peaceful and secure environment. Security units are continuing their preparations ahead of the congress.
Governor Şahin said that, in addition to field teams, the Cybercrime, Counterterrorism, Intelligence, Security and Public Order branches, as well as the Serik District Police Department, were closely monitoring preparations.
