Malaysia is preparing to initiate proceedings at the International Court of Justice against Israel due to the treatment of activists in the Global Sumud humanitarian aid fleet heading to Gaza. According to local media reports, the plan centers on allegations that activists were kidnapped and subjected to ill-treatment. Selangor State Chief Minister Amirudin Shari said Kuala Lumpur would take action after lawyers gather information and supporting evidence. According to the statement, the fleet was stopped last week by Israeli forces' intervention in international waters, and there were more than 400 international activists on board. Amirudin stated that alongside the legal initiative, diplomatic pressure would also continue, and efforts to support Palestine would persist. It was also reported that Malaysia plans to bring international meetings on Palestine to the country and will continue its support for lifting the blockade on Gaza.
