On the occasion of May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day in Ankara, tens of thousands of workers gathered at Tandoğan Square in the rally organized by DİSK, KESK, TMMOB, and the Ankara Medical Chamber. Political parties, unions, civil society organizations, and student movements supported the rally. Participants marched to the area in corteges, drawing attention to workers' rights, justice, freedom, and education issues with banners and slogans.
While METU students joined the cortege by running their traditional races, Doruk Mining workers supported the rally after a 9-day hunger strike. Banners such as "Long live May 1st," "Labor, justice, freedom," and "We will send our children to university, not prison" were displayed at the rally area. Participants voiced their demands with various slogans.
In the Eğitim Sen cortege, teachers drew attention by writing the problems experienced in education on their white coats. At the rally, imprisoned journalists were protested with applause and greeted. Greetings were also sent to Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and former HDP Co-Chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ. The rally concluded as an event emphasizing the solidarity and rights struggle of workers.
