It has been reported that the message traffic aimed at reaching an agreement between Iran and the US has stopped for at least several days. The report in the Iranian press stated that indirect contacts between the two countries have been cut off and the last message was related to the Lebanon issue. It was noted that the message resonated widely internationally. The report recalled that the Iranian side had previously taken a stance to pause negotiations and text exchanges citing developments in Lebanon as a reason. Accordingly, Tehran argues that the ceasefire should not be limited to just one front but should be valid on all fronts. It was emphasized that Lebanon's inclusion among the preconditions for the ceasefire stands out in Iran's approach. The report also included the view that any breach of the ceasefire on any front would invalidate the entire arrangement. Meanwhile, after Donald Trump announced that Israel's planned attack on Beirut was halted, he said that talks with Iran were proceeding very quickly. The report also conveyed that Iran, in light of these developments, claimed that the responsibility lies with the US and Israel. Thus, on one hand, the suspended message traffic between the parties, and on the other hand, statements claiming that talks continue, came to the fore. The process once again showed how intertwined the indirect contacts between Iran and the US are with developments in the region. The Lebanon file has become one of the issues affecting not only the conflict on the ground but also the diplomatic line.
