Elif Berra Gökkır claims silver medal
Elif Berra Gökkır, competing in the women's recurve bow category, lost 6-0 to Czech athlete Marie Horackova in the final to take the silver medal.
The Turkish Archery Federation stated that this silver medal is Turkey's first individual medal in the women's recurve bow category in the history of the World Cup stages.
"With this result, Elif Berra Gökkır also guaranteed her participation in the World Cup Finals. Previously, in the World Cup Finals held in our country in 2010 and 2018, our female athletes had taken part in the organization through the host country quota. For the first time in the 20-year history of the World Cup, a Turkish female athlete has earned the right to compete in the World Cup Finals by entering the top 8 in the world rankings with her results in the Mexico, Shanghai, Antalya, and Madrid stages. Our national athlete Elif Berra Gökkır will represent our country at the World Cup Finals, which will feature the season's top eight athletes and will be held in Mexico. We congratulate our national athlete, our coaches, and our technical team, and wish them continued success. "
