Minister Tekin met with the national education directors of 81 provinces at the Şırnak Teachers’ Center. The meeting of provincial national education directors addressed educational activities, preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year and efforts to strengthen school-family cooperation.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Tekin said they were working to ensure the security of everyone living in the country in terms of life, property, honor and dignity, while safeguarding fundamental rights and freedoms.
Tekin also referred to the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration, which was passed by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. Describing the law’s passage as an important step, Tekin said the initiative should be supported in the period ahead.
Tekin said the steps taken since 2002 had been effective in bringing Türkiye to its current position. He said 468 lawmakers from different political parties had demonstrated the political will for the law to be enacted. Tekin added that the President’s democratization efforts over the past 24 years had also made a major contribution to the process.
Emphasis on national unity in schools
Tekin said strengthening national unity and solidarity would move Türkiye to a different position economically, socially and politically, adding that this was also one of the goals of the Türkiye Century Education Model.
Tekin said they emphasized national unity and solidarity at all activities held in schools. Stating that they were responsible for raising children who would protect the country’s unity and solidarity, Tekin said they would stand by all citizens regardless of their ethnic or religious identity.
Priority for family programs
Tekin said one academic year had been completed and preparations were under way for the new academic term. He thanked the provincial national education directors for their efforts and wished them success in the new term.
Tekin said they had placed importance on involving families in the process while preparing the Türkiye Century Education Model. He instructed officials to prioritize the “Family School” and “Parent School” programs in the new term.
Tekin also claimed that the ongoing work was being sabotaged by those hostile to the country and the nation. He said the scale of the criticism showed the added value the work created in terms of national unity and solidarity.
The meeting, which will include general assessments of educational activities, will continue for two days with presentations by heads of departments.
