Mechanical and Chemical Industry (MKE) has developed a 20 mm dual-gun revolver system for the TOLGA short-range air defense system. According to a promotional video released by the Ministry of National Defense and MKE, each gun in the system fires 1,600 rounds per minute; with two guns mounted on a single turret, the total firing rate reaches 3,200 rounds per minute.
"Three times faster than its counterparts"
MKE says the dual-gun system's firing rate is three times higher than those of its counterparts worldwide. The firing rate can be adjusted according to operational needs. The system was designed for use against drones, unmanned aerial vehicles and kamikaze unmanned surface vehicles.
With fragmentation anti-drone ammunition, the effective range is 1,000 meters, while it is 2,000 meters with conventional ammunition. The system can also use 20 mm ammunition compliant with NATO standards and fire at elevation angles ranging from -30 to +70 degrees.
TOLGA had neutralized a target drone in a short time during the Ateş Serbest-2026 event held in Polatlı.
