Mohamed Salah arrives in Trabzon
Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah was given an enthusiastic welcome by 25,000 fans at the airport as he arrived in Trabzon by private jet. Trabzonspor Club will hold a signing ceremony tomorrow at Papara Park.
Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah arrived at Trabzon Airport by private jet. The claret-and-blue fans greeted Salah with flares and chants.
As a large crowd gathered at the airport, Salah and Trabzonspor Club President Ertuğrul Doğan posed for photos with the fans.
Salah: "There are 25,000 people here, I've never seen anything like this before"
Unable to hide his astonishment at the intense interest, Salah said:
First of all, let me say that I am incredibly happy to be in this atmosphere. Actually, I'm struggling to put into words how surprised and happy I am. Because there are 25,000 people here. Believe me, I don't remember ever seeing anything like this before.
Salah, saying "I am very happy to be here," stressed that he would work hard to be successful in the league and in Europe. "I have achieved success at every club I've been to. I have always been a successful footballer. That's what I need to do here again," he said.
President Doğan thanks the fans
Trabzonspor Club President Ertuğrul Doğan thanked the fans, saying, "Mohamed Salah is a world star. Our fans have shown here how a world star should be welcomed. I kiss all of their eyes."
After the speeches, Salah left the airport in President Doğan's car.
Trabzonspor Club will hold a signing ceremony for Mohamed Salah tomorrow at 19:30 at Papara Park. Fans have also been invited to the ceremony.
