The Istanbul Global E-Export Summit (IGEXX 2026) will be held at the Haliç Congress Center on September 3–5. Organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Trade in cooperation with the Turkish Exporters Assembly and the Electronic Commerce Operators Association, the summit will feature more than 40 global e-commerce platforms operating in different regions of the world.
Global marketplaces to meet in Istanbul
The participating platforms have a combined trade volume of $6.1 trillion. Global and regional e-commerce players from a broad geography stretching from Europe to Asia and from Latin America to the Middle East and Africa will hold meetings with Turkish producers, brands and exporters.
Participants include Amazon, Alibaba, Walmart Marketplace, eBay, TikTok Shop, SHEIN, Tmall, JD.com, Coupang, Wayfair, Otto, Kaufland, Cdiscount, eMAG, Mercado Libre, Noon, Jumia, Zalora and Takealot.
New markets and artificial intelligence on the summit agenda
The event will address expansion into new markets, AI-powered e-export and opportunities in Asian markets, particularly China. Platform representatives will assess opportunities to establish new business partnerships with producers, brands and exporters in Türkiye.
Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, director general of exports at the Ministry of Trade, emphasized the importance of market diversification and new business partnerships, noting that approximately 40% of Türkiye’s exports go to European Union countries.
Kılıçkaya said China is one of the world’s strongest e-commerce markets and that opportunities are also available for Turkish exporters in high-potential markets such as Indonesia and Malaysia. He noted that the ministry supports certain costs incurred when companies cooperate with platforms and local stakeholders in these markets.
Türkiye’s e-export volume reaches $5.045 billion
Hasan Önal, head of the Department of E-Export, Digital Marketing, Behavioral Public Policies and Next-Generation Technologies at the Ministry of Trade, announced that approximately 13% of companies engaged in e-export conduct exports through Amazon.
Önal said the Trade Partner model, along with business-to-business and business-to-consumer sales models, is coming to the fore in expansion into new markets. He said support for order fulfillment, digital marketing and access to global marketplaces is continuing so that Turkish companies can establish a stronger presence in the Chinese market, which accounts for 50.8% of global e-commerce.
Önal said AI-powered “agentic commerce” applications will reshape competition in e-export. He stated that Türkiye’s e-export volume reached $5.045 billion as of 2025 and that the number of companies engaged in e-export had exceeded 11,000, adding that support for digital marketing, order fulfillment and access to global marketplaces would continue at increased levels.
