Muhammed Salah scores twice in Trabzonspor’s most prolific start in five seasons
Trabzonspor defeated Başakşehir 2-1 in the second week, with Muhammed Salah contributing two goals to his team’s first win of the season. Salah played 122 minutes in the opening two matches, scoring once every 61 minutes on average and accounting for two of Trabzonspor’s three goals during this period.
Trabzonspor defeated Başakşehir 2-1 at home in the second week of the Trendyol Super Lig. Muhammed Salah, who scored Trabzonspor’s goals, played a decisive role in his team’s first win of the season.
Salah started the match and found the net in the 8th and 48th minutes. The Egyptian forward scored his first league goal for Trabzonspor in his second appearance.
Two goals in the first two matches
Salah played a total of 122 minutes in Trabzonspor’s first two league matches. He spent 32 minutes on the field against Kasımpaşa and played the full 90 minutes against Başakşehir.
The Egyptian player scored twice during this period, finding the net once every 61 minutes on average. Two of Trabzonspor’s three goals in the opening two weeks came from Salah.
Trabzonspor drew 1-1 away to Kasımpaşa in the opening week of the league. Saviolo scored Trabzonspor’s goal in that match.
Best start since the championship season
Compared with Trabzonspor’s opening two weeks in the seasons since the club won the title in 2021-2022, Salah has scored more goals during this period than any other player for the team.
Trabzonspor scored seven goals in the first two weeks of the 2021-2022 season. Bakasetas and Nwakaeme scored two each, while Hamsik, Djaniny and Gervinho scored once apiece.
In the 2022-2023 season, Abdülkadir Ömür, Cornelius and Denswil were the players who scored in the opening two weeks. In the 2023-2024 season, Denswil found the net during this period.
Trabzonspor did not score in the first two weeks of the 2024-2025 season. In the 2025-2026 season, Augusto and Onuachu were among the players to score for the team.
Onuachu, who finished last season as the league’s top scorer, did not score in the opening two weeks of this season.
