French club Paris FC announced that Italian striker Ciro Immobile had ended his professional football career. Immobile said goodbye to the game at the age of 36 after a career spanning 17 years.
Paris FC said the club and Immobile had decided to bring the experienced footballer's career to an end. The club added that Immobile wanted to devote most of his time to his family from now on.
He made history in Serie A
Immobile began his professional career at Juventus and made his biggest mark in Italy's Serie A, particularly during his time at Lazio between 2016 and 2024. He scored 207 goals in 340 appearances for Lazio, becoming the club's all-time leading scorer.
Throughout his career, Immobile also played for Torino, Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Beşiktaş. He moved from Italian side Bologna to Paris FC in February and scored two goals in 12 league appearances for the French club.
350 goals in 656 matches
The Italian striker scored 350 goals in 656 appearances across all competitions. Immobile won the Italian Super Cup, the German Super Cup and the Turkish Super Cup during his career, along with numerous other achievements in different tournaments.
Immobile scored 36 goals in Italy's Serie A in 2020 to win the European Golden Shoe. With that performance, he equaled the single-season scoring record held by Argentina's Gonzalo Higuain and became Serie A's top scorer four times.
His Italy career
Immobile made 57 appearances for the Italy national team and scored 17 goals. He was part of the Italy squad that won the 2021 European Championship.
