Beşiktaş has issued an update on the injury of Türkiye international Orkun Kökçü. The club said the 25-year-old midfielder hurt the sole of his right foot in the first half of the UEFA Europa League match at Hoffenheim on Oct. 15, which Beşiktaş won 3-2, and was unable to continue.
After the team returned to Istanbul, an MRI scan at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital revealed a partial plantar fascia tear and a traumatic separation of the heel fat pad in his right foot. The club said its medical staff have started his treatment.
Matches he is expected to miss
Beşiktaş did not give a timeline for his return. According to beIN SPORTS reporter Tayfun Akkaya, Kökçü is not expected to play against Trabzonspor, Crystal Palace and Başakşehir. Journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reported that the midfielder will be out for about two weeks.
Beşiktaş visit Trabzonspor at Papara Park in Week 8 of the Süper Lig on Monday, Oct. 19, at 8 p.m. local time. In the third round of the UEFA Europa League league phase, they host English side Crystal Palace at Tüpraş Stadium on Oct. 22.

Beşiktaş then host Başakşehir in Week 9 before travelling to Kasımpaşa in Week 10. Whether Kökçü can play against Kasımpaşa will depend on how his treatment progresses.
The win at Hoffenheim took Beşiktaş to 6 points from two matches in the Europa League league phase.
