A Palestine convoy that set out from Bosnia and Herzegovina in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank continues to wait at the Ibrahim Khalil Border Gate on Iraq's border with Türkiye.
The convoy includes around 400 civil society activists from 20 countries. It is traveling under the slogan "Solidarity with the Palestinian people and an end to the occupation."
The convoy is waiting on the Iraqi side
After passing through Türkiye's Habur Border Gate, the convoy has been on the Iraqi side of the crossing since Tuesday evening. Diplomatic contacts and logistical preparations are under way to continue the route.

Convoy spokesperson Hüseyin Durmaz said he had traveled to Iraq two days earlier to facilitate the activists' passage and had held the necessary talks with Iraqi officials.
Durmaz said the convoy was civilian and peaceful and aimed to draw the international community's attention to the hardships faced by Palestinians. He said there were no missing documents or legal problems and alleged that pressure and interference originating from Israel were behind the wait.

Durmaz also alleged that Israel's Ministry of Diaspora Affairs had classified the convoy as "high risk" when it entered Türkiye and reached Istanbul. The convoy spokesperson said talks with officials from countries in the region were continuing and that they expected a positive outcome allowing the convoy to reach the Jordan-Palestine border.

The situation in Gaza and the West Bank
More than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed, over 174,000 injured and around 90 percent of the infrastructure destroyed in the attacks on Gaza that began in 2023.
Although a ceasefire agreement was reached in Gaza in October 2025, violations have continued. During this period, 1,259 Palestinians were killed and 4,148 injured. In the West Bank, more than 1,183 Palestinians have been killed, around 13,000 injured and approximately 25,000 detained as a result of attacks by the Israeli army and settlers.
