President Donald Trump said in a statement on a deal reached with Venezuela that the United States would refill its strategic oil reserves with Venezuelan oil.
Trump said the process of refilling the strategic reserves, which he alleged former President Joe Biden had almost completely emptied, would begin very soon.
Describing the move as “a gift from Venezuela to the American people,” Trump also said in a statement on August 29 that they had secured control over most of Venezuela’s more than 65 billion barrels in oil reserves.
