President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who arrived in Türkiye for an official visit, at Ankara Airport. The two leaders spoke for a while at the airport.
Tokayev welcomed at the Presidential Complex with a 21-gun salute
Tokayev was then welcomed with an official ceremony at the Presidential Complex. During the ceremony, which featured the national anthems of both countries and a 21-gun salute, Tokayev greeted the Guard Regiment ceremonial unit by saying, “Hello, soldier.” Flags and soldiers representing the 16 Turkic states established throughout history were also present.
After introducing their delegations to each other, the leaders posed for photographs in front of the flags of Türkiye and Kazakhstan.
Erdoğan and Tokayev first held a one-on-one meeting and then chaired interdelegation talks. The closed-door discussions addressed bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues.
