Retired Saudi Armed Forces General Mohammed Saleh al-Harbi said relations between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia are at a high level. Harbi described Türkiye as a reliable partner and ally.
Speaking on Al Jazeera, Harbi said Turkish companies were carrying out major projects in Saudi Arabia and that Saudi Arabia was developing its partnership with Baykar in the military field.
Harbi said Türkiye was one of NATO's strongest countries, adding that Türkiye, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had strengthened their regional positions and were acting to establish a strategic balance.

First step toward the railway project
Harbi said the agreement signed by the two countries' transport ministers was the first step toward implementing the planned railway project.
Harbi argued that the project would create a strategic transformation in social, historical, cultural and economic terms, and said the line could affect global transport routes, supply chains and logistics.
Harbi said the planned railway would begin in Saudi Arabia and reach Türkiye via Jordan and Syria, adding that the line would be approximately 3,000 kilometers long.
Harbi said the route would connect Asia and Europe and create an alternative land transport corridor between the Gulf countries, Türkiye and Europe.
Harbi said the line was planned to carry passengers and freight, as well as logistical cargo and products, adding that the project would benefit all countries along the route.
Harbi said the benefits of the project would not be limited to Saudi Arabia, adding, "Everyone will benefit; there will be no losers."
The retired general said further development of relations between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia would facilitate the implementation of joint projects and strengthen cooperation between the two countries in line with their regional interests.
